The NBA’s takeover proposal was rejected by all EuroLeague shareholders, including Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.
The decision was made unanimously at the meeting held in Como, with the only difference being that some teams were open to negotiation while others were categorically opposed.
The NBA’s acquisition proposal was deemed unsatisfactory, as aside from the price—which was not what the shareholders had hoped for (it is said to have not exceeded 2 billion)— the teams were categorically opposed to both paying to become franchises and handing over control of the league to the NBA.
