The World Cup came to a premature end for the Netherlands, as they lost to Morocco in a penalty shootout in the round of 32.

What’s incredible is that the “Oranje” have now gone twelve consecutive World Cup matches without a loss in regulation time, as their last defeat in regulation time was a 1-0 loss to Portugal in the Round of 16 of the 2006 World Cup.
Since then, the Dutch have never lost a World Cup match in regulation time. In 2010, they had a perfect record until they lost to Spain in the final in extra time (1-0).
In 2014, the Netherlands remained undefeated until the semifinals, losing to Argentina on penalty kicks, a scenario that was repeated in 2022 against the same opponent, but this time in the quarterfinals.
