Cape Verde proved once again that it didn’t make it to the World Cup by accident. After their historic 0-0 draw against Spain, the “Blue Sharks” not only held their own against Uruguay, but could have even come away with the win!
Maxi Araújo was the one who kept the Celeste in the game, scoring the 1-1 equalizer and providing the assist for Canobbio’s temporary go-ahead goal, however, an unthinkable mistake by Muslera and Olivera handed the Africans a point for the final 2-2 draw in the second match of Group H.
And so, Marcelo Bielsa’s team has now gone two consecutive games without a win and must now face Spain in a decisive match to advance!
