Kyriakos Zivanaris is stepping down!
The former president of the APOEL Supporters’ Club announced that he is stepping down, while also revealing that the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) has given the… green light to finalize the agreement with Savvas Liasis’s investment group.

The reason for his departure, as explained in the “blue-and-yellows’” official announcement, is that the club is now on a path to recovery and prosperity, and he feels that his own chapter has come to a close after 20 years.
The board of directors of the Nicosia-based team announced that, by unanimous decision, his replacement will be Costas Schizas.

ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE APOEL CLUB
Today, I would like to address the entire APOEL community and inform them that, during a private meeting we had with the President of the Cyprus Football Association, Mr. Haris Loizidis, I received assurances regarding the CFF’s response as to whether the agreement in principle with ECM can proceed toward completion.
The assurances I received from the CFF were entirely positive and represent the culmination of a long and arduous effort. All that remains now is to send the response and finalize the agreement, toward which significant progress has already been made.
For me personally, this moment is a milestone, since, after an intense period during which we achieved what many considered impossible, the soccer department of APOEL is now on a path to recovery and prosperity.
I have served our APOEL for over 20 years—a lifetime. With the dawn of this new day, my own chapter is coming to a close, as I have decided to step down from the Board of Directors of APOEL.
I remain an ally of the great effort being made toward reform and faithful to the grand vision of APOEL.

The Board of Directors of the APOEL Association announces that during its meeting today, the President of the Association, Mr. Kyriakos Zivanaris, informed the members that he is stepping down from the Board of Directors.
The remaining members of the Board of Directors expressed their heartfelt thanks to the outgoing President for his many years of dedicated service to APOEL. Kyriakos Zivanaris served both the Club and APOEL FOOTBALL for many years, and his name has been closely associated with APOEL’s administration and history.
Subsequently, the Board of Directors unanimously decided to appoint Mr. Kostas Schizas as President of the Club. At a particularly significant time for APOEL, as it marks 100 years of history, the Board of Directors determined that this position should be entrusted to a person who has selflessly served the Club for many years, with an undeniable contribution to the entire APOEL organization.
The Board of Directors continues its work uninterrupted and remains committed to achieving the primary goal of finalizing the agreement with the investment group, as committed to at the Club’s recent General Assembly.
