With its second victory of the season, APOEL secured its second win of the season tonight following its match against Achilleas in the third round of the first phase of the ECOMMBX Basket League.
The Blue-and-Yellows defeated Achilleas 84-62.

At halftime, the winners led 47-32, while for Achilleas, this was their third loss in as many games.
Sherman led the winners with 17 points and 21 efficiency points.
APOEL got off to a strong start, initially taking a 10-2 lead.
Achilles then narrowed the gap to 10-6, but the home team continued to maintain a steady lead, all while playing at a slow pace.
At the end of the first quarter, APOEL led 19-10.
In the second quarter, the pace picked up, but APOEL maintained its lead thanks to points from Simitzis and Sherman.
On the other hand, Bayless was the main source of points for Achilleas, who cut the deficit to 30-23 at the 15-minute mark, but the lead then grew to +12 (42-30), with the home team leading 47-32 at halftime.
In the third quarter, APOEL played better on both ends of the court.
This performance resulted in the lead steadily increasing, reaching +32 in APOEL’s favor when, at the 27-minute mark, they led 66-34.
In the final three minutes of the third quarter, Achilleas went on an 11-2 run, narrowing the deficit to -23, and the score stood at 68-45 at the 30-minute mark.
The fourth quarter started off slowly, but APOEL managed to maintain a large lead.
At the 35-minute mark, the eventual winners led 77-56 and ultimately secured the victory with a final score of 84-62.
