Aris faces Burgos tonight (8:00 p.m.) in its second EuroCup game. In fact, the game against the Spanish team will be their first home game of the season and will be an opportunity for Vasilis Spanoulis’s team to introduce themselves to the fans of the “Yellows.”
The Thessaloniki team got off to the best possible start in the competition; despite trailing Le Mans by as many as double digits, they showed character and escaped from the French team’s home court with an 87-74 victory.

Aris’s debut in the Stoiximan GBL against Karditsa is another story. There, the “Yellows,” despite entering the game in high spirits, failed to rise to the occasion, resulting in a 74-68 loss, a fact that led Vassilis Spanoulis to lash out in his post-game comments.
The home team will take the court with a very significant absence, as Stefan Jović is still not ready and has been left off the roster.
However, the game against the Spanish team at the packed “Nick Galis Hall” is a good opportunity for the Thessaloniki team to put their poor performance against Karditsa behind them and make a fresh start with the fans cheering them on.
On the other hand, Burgos has one win and one loss in the Spanish league. They initially lost a close game, 97-98, to Baskonia, but in the next round, they comfortably defeated Lleida on the road, 94-81. In its debut in this year’s EuroCup, the team put in a strong performance against Cedevita (85-81) and arrives in Thessaloniki in high spirits.
