Arsenal’s winning streak at the start of the season came to an end in Brighton, where the home team, led by Babis Kostoulas, prevailed 3-0, leaving Mikel Arteta concerned.
“I’m very disappointed—first with the performance, and then with the result. Brighton was the better team and fully deserved the win. There are certain fundamental things you have to do in the Premier League, and we were far from achieving them. The number of technical errors we made was unacceptable. We didn’t respect any of the fundamentals of the game,” the Basque coach emphasized at the outset.
“It was Arsenal’s first loss since April, and Arteta believes we need to learn from it. “We need to feel the pain. This won’t change our perspective or diminish the value of what the team has achieved in the first six or seven weeks of the season. However, today we must take this lesson very seriously, because these things happen. “I believe we need to examine this specific incident on its own, draw the necessary lessons, and then put it into the broader context,” he said.
