Barcelona continues its impressive run in LaLiga, defeating Getafe 3-0 at Camp Nou in Matchday 8 and celebrated its eighth victory in as many league matches.
The “Blaugrana” came out strong and managed to take control early on, opening the scoring just 2 minutes into the game with a goal by Gordon. The Barcelona team continued to press and, in the 30th minute, found the back of the net again, with Gabriel Jesus making it 2-0, a score with which the two teams headed into the locker rooms.
In the second half, Barcelona maintained its dominance and put the icing on the cake in the 73rd minute. Koundé combined with Yamal and sent the ball into the net, setting the final score at 3-0.
With this result, Hansi Flick’s team maintains a perfect record of wins in its first eight matches and confirms that it is in excellent form, steadily advancing toward its goal of winning the title.
Earlier, Atlético Madrid won 2-1 on the road against Alavés, in La Liga’s 8th matchday, securing the win with a goal by Romero in the 87th minute and remaining in 2nd place, five points behind the leader.
Grimaldo opened the scoring for the “Roji Blancos” in the 33rd minute, but Boyé equalized on a penalty kick in stoppage time of the first half. Romero provided the winning goal for Diego Simeone’s team, sealing the 1-2 victory in the 87th minute following an assist from Baena.
Finally, play was halted for an unbelievable reason in the Rayo Vallecano-Bilbao match. The home fans began throwing firecrackers onto the field in protest against the club’s management, shouting “Pressa, get out,” directed at the club president.
The game was suspended in the 13th minute so that the referee, José María Sánchez, could issue warnings. The match resumed, but the fans at Vallecas did not back down, and an announcement was made over the loudspeakers prohibiting the throwing of objects. Shortly afterward, the game was halted once again.
Alvaro Garcia then went to the fans to calm them down, but they refused to back down, and shortly afterward, chants for Raul Martin Presa began again. Ultimately, the match was called off.
