Barcelona isn’t giving up on Rodri. With the player—who has made it clear that he wants to wear only their jersey—on their side, the Spanish champions are expected to submit an improved offer to Manchester City immediately, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The initial offer, around 45–50 million euros, was rejected by the English club, which is demanding 65 million euros for the 30-year-old star. “Barça” shows no inclination to reach those levels for a player of that age who will become a free agent in a year, but is optimistic that it will be able to secure City’s agreement with an offer of just over 50 million euros, which, combined with bonuses, could approach the amount demanded by the Manchester club.
Rodri, who was voted MVP of the World Cup, made 33 appearances and scored 2 goals last season with City.
