In a thrilling game that turned into a nail-biter in the final minutes, Olympiacos defeated PAOK 101-96 at the Peristeri Indoor Arena and claimed the fifth Stoiximan Super Cup in its history!

After the game, Giorgos Bartzokas reflected on the “Red-and-Whites’” first trophy of the season, making special mention of the challenges his team faced due to PAOK’s strong performance, as well as the circumstances surrounding the rotation.

Finally, he spoke highly of Jean Montero, emphasizing that the Dominican guard is in complete control of the team’s pace.

Here is what he said in detail:

“Obviously, this is the first title of the year. We weren’t solid on defense. We were down by nearly 20 points. We need to have better defensive control. PAOK made some incredible shots. The momentum at the end wasn’t in our favor, but we handled the situation. Another title for our team. Olympiacos always plays to win titles.

Nothing threw us off. We have a limited rotation because of our big men; we resorted to unconventional lineups with Enzai at the “5” and couldn’t rest Vezhenkov. But when we score 101 points this season, it shows we have great ability.

What does Montero need to settle in for? He seems to be in complete control of the team. Good players don’t need time. They just step in and play.”
