WNBA team owner blocks Kanter: “We won’t let him into our arena”

The feud is intensifying

Enes Kanter continues to be the center of attention in the United States following the latest incidents involving him and featuring… WNBA.

The latest incident illustrating this… broader crisis took place in Chicago during the Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever. When the former NBA star entered the arena, Natasha Cloud “spotted” him, became enraged by his presence, and engaged him in a heated exchange.

Kanter was escorted off the court by security, and the incident took on massive proportions, as it was broadcast on an international television network. Kanter himself, in statements to “Fox News,” stressed that he simply went to support his girlfriend, Sophie Cunningham, while insisting that he identifies as a woman and wants to play in the WNBA. At the same time, he emphasized that he doesn’t understand why there is so much anger directed at him, especially to the point where he is being prevented from attending a game.

The owner of the Chicago Sky, Michael Alter, seeing the situation get completely out of hand, decided to issue a statement that further stoked tensions. He made it clear that Kanter is “persona non grata” at his team’s home arena and is barred from entering it under any circumstances. At least not until he… proves to everyone that he does not pose a threat to the smooth conduct of a match.

“He has categorically demonstrated to us that he has the potential to pose a threat and that he is unable to control himself to such an extent that we can be confident he will not approach the fieldand the players. This, then, is the basis on which we will not allow him to enter the stadium until he can prove otherwise.”
