Addressing the Stigma Surrounding Mental Health in Youth Soccer
The TEAM project—Tackling the Mental Health Stigma in Youth Soccer—focuses on addressing challenges related to mental health and well-being in youth soccer.
Through research, the exchange of knowledge, and best practices, the project aims to foster a better understanding of the mental health issues that young people involved in soccer may face, as well as to enhance the knowledge and awareness of athletes and those who work with them.
At the same time, the project will contribute to the development of a Handbook of Good Practices, which will provide practical knowledge and guidance to those involved in youth soccer, with the aim of identifying, address, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
Strengthening European Cooperation
The meeting in Madrid provided an important opportunity for the partners to assess the project’s progress, exchange experiences, and coordinate upcoming actions and deliverables.
With the participation of organizations from Cyprus, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Portugal, TEAM brings together the experience and expertise of academic institutions, soccer organizations, and entities active in the field of sports.
