A stir in England over Granit Xhaka, who admitted in a social media post that he had produced a fake COVID-19 vaccination certificate!
Specifically, he admitted that he was in possession of a fake certificate because—as he emphasized—he was anxious about the vaccine at the time, with the Swiss midfielder now facing up to five years in prison, though he is more likely to be fined 10,500 euros. The Sunderland midfielder is scheduled to appear in court in early October.
“In recent days, there has been a lot of discussion about an issue from my past. I would like to address this personally. At the time, I was personally very anxious and had serious reservations about the COVID-19 vaccine. I didn’t trust the vaccine at all, and I was overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty.
In this state of mental turmoil, I purchased a vaccination certificate instead of seeking answers to my questions through the appropriate channels. Today, I clearly understand that this was not the right course of action. It was a mistake. I apologize. “I take full responsibility for this decision, I am subjecting myself to an investigation into the facts, and I am cooperating fully with the relevant authorities,” Xhaka stated in his post.
