“Turmoil” in Cádiz centered on former AEK coach Imanol Idiakez, just a few days before the start of the Segunda División!
According to Spanish media reports, the 54-year-old is on his way out after falling out with the club’s management. The main cause of the tension appears to be the transfer strategy, which he believed was flawed.
For some time now, Idiakez has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the new signings, believing that the team has not been strengthened as much as he had requested. The club’s management did not appreciate this behavior and is removing him from the bench.
All signs point to his replacement being another familiar face in Cypriot soccer, Albert Thelades, who previously coached in Paphos.
