The Champions League group stage is back with all its… firepower. The draw in Monaco confirmed that the tournament’s new format leaves no room for a “quiet” start, since right from the very first round there are matchups that, just a few years ago, we would have only seen in the knockout stages.

With the format having changed and all 36 teams entering a single draw, the blockbuster matchups have multiplied. The algorithm has once again produced top-tier matchups: Arsenal vs. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain vs. Manchester City, Barcelona vs. Paris, Manchester United vs. Bayern, Bayern vs. Arsenal. Matchups that set the tone for this year’s League Phase all on their own.

Amid all this, there’s also a Greek storyline that stands out: Christos Tzolis’s Arsenal will face Borussia Dortmund, featuring Giannis Konstantelias and Konstantinos Karetsas. A match that, beyond its European significance, also holds special interest for Greek fans.
