The prospect of returning to the Premier League doesn’t appeal to Harry Kane as much as it used to, as he told FourFourTwo magazine after receiving the second European Golden Boot of his career on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old left Tottenham for Bayern in 2023 and has since won two German league titles, as well as the country’s Cup and Super Cup. The captain of the England national team has repeatedly been linked with a possible return to his homeland, where he is 47 goals away from Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals.
“When I first left Tottenham, I definitely believed that I would return at some point. I no longer feel that desire as strongly. I’m extremely happy here in Munich. It’s opened my eyes to a completely different world of soccer, outside of England.
I never say never, but for now I’m focused on Bayern Munich, and we’ll see what the future holds,” said Kane, who is under contract through the summer of 2027.
The English forward finished the 2025–26 Bundesliga season with 36 goals, retaining his title as the league’s top scorer and winning the European Golden Boot for the second time. In total, he has scored 146 goals in 147 appearances for Bayern, 98 of which came in 94 Bundesliga matches.
