Panathinaikos, following the conclusion of the first grueling week of the EuroLeague—in which it hopes to have gone 2-0— is preparing for its Stoiximan GBL opener against newly promoted Viko Ioannina, whom it will host at the “Telekom Center Athens” on Sunday (October 4).
However, Zeljko Obradović’s team will kick off this year’s league without its fans. Specifically, the match against the team from Epirus will be played behind closed doors, following a decision by the Sports Judge, due to the penalty the “clover” has been carrying since the 5th final of the 2025–26 season against Olympiacos at SEF.
The announcement from Panathinaikos BC: “Panathinaikos BC AKTOR informs fans that the game against the Vikos Falcons (Oct. 4, 1:00 p.m.), as part of the Stoiximan GBL season opener, will be played behind closed doors, following a decision by the Sports Judge.”
