Putting an end to the rumors about negotiations with Manchester United, which even included… details about the discussions, in a written statement. The Italian coach made it clear that he is not in talks with any club.
“My name has been linked to several clubs, but at this moment there are no negotiations at an advanced stage.
After a wonderful and successful tenure at Napoli, I will take the time I need to consider how and when I will return to coaching. It will be a well-considered decision, which I will make when I deem the conditions to be right.
I have read reports regarding financial demands and requests for full control, which I am said to have already made to the clubs in question, as well as reservations about what is described as my “strong personality.” These reports are unfounded, as there is currently no concrete basis for such assessments.
Should a specific opportunity arise, that would be the appropriate time to engage in discussions with the club in question, so that we may jointly examine the terms of a potential agreement, taking into account the needs of both sides, as well as the characteristics and approach that define my work as a coach.
Until then, any speculation regarding my demands and my professional future remains mere rumor and cannot be taken as fact.”
