Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice against Uzbekistan in Portugal's 5-0 in the second match of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
With these goals, “CR7” became the first player in soccer history to score in six World Cups.
Furthermore, with these goals, the Portuguese player moved into second place on the list of the oldest scorers in the tournament’s history at 41 years and 138 days, making him 266 days younger than Roger Milla, who holds the top spot.
That record has stood since June 28, 1994, when Roger Milla, at the age of 42 years and 39 days, scored “consolation goal” for his team in the Russia-Cameroon match, which ended 6-1, again on American soil.
That particular match held double historical significance, as aside from Milla’s record, Russia’s Oleg Salenko became the only player in history to score five goals in a single game.
