Newcastle was in complete disarray in the first half of their match against Bournemouth at St. James’ Park, the “Cherries” had managed to unsettle Yaisle’s team on their home turf with a 1-2 halftime lead, but the “Magpies” ultimately secured a point (2-2).
Marco Rose’s team took the lead in the 9th minute with a finish by Tavernier, who capitalized on a clever pass behind the defense to burst past Hornischek and make make it 1-0. The visitors doubled their lead in the 35th minute when Tiao inadvertently deflected the ball off a shot by Scott, resulting in an own goal that made it 0-2.
Fortunately for the team led by the fiery—to the point of earning a card—Matthias Jaisl, they quickly pulled one back in the 37th minute with a superb finish by Barnes, and the pressure from the stands and the home team’s players paid off in the 88th minute. Ramsey, with a low shot following a sustained attack in Bournemouth’s box, set the final score at 2-2, keeping Newcastle undefeated this season.
