Panathinaikos faced a formidable challenge from Niki Volos in the opening match of the League Phase of the Greek Cup, with the the “Greens” finally breaking the deadlock in the 59th minute, thanks to an excellent header by Taborda, for a final score of 1-0.
Jacob Nystrup’s team controlled the pace of the game and patiently sought the goal against an opponent whose clear objective was to close down space and keep a clean sheet.
