The transfer is being finalized
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Kristian Jakic will be a PAOK player for the new season.

The 29-year-old Croatian defensive midfielder is joining on loan from Augsburg, with whom he has a contract through 2028, and of course there is a purchase option.

PAOK had been pursuing the Croatian international midfielder for several days, and while talks with the German club—from which Giannoulis was also acquired—seemed to have stalled, PAOK pushed the issue forward, and the player’s desire to join the club also played a role, so he will be coming to Toumba.

The Thessaloniki club is expecting Jakić at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the “Macedonia” on a flight from Zagreb, where he will undergo medical and fitness tests, sign his contract, and immediately join Alessio Lisi’s squad.

The right-footed Jakic, who stands 1.81 meters tall, was born on May 14, 1997, in Split and has made 17 appearances and scored 2 goals for his country’s national team. Last season at Augsburg, he made 28 appearances, scored 2 goals, and had 1 assist, while this season he has made one appearance as a substitute. With this team, he has a total of 78 appearances, 5 goals, and 3 assists.

Jakić has also played for Eintracht Frankfurt (he faced PAOK during the 2023–24 season, and was sent off during PAOK’s 2-1 away victory; in the photo below, he is pictured facing off against Konstantelia), racking up 82 matches, 2 goals and 2 assists; at Lokomotiva Zagreb, where he had 59 appearances, 5 goals, and 3 assists; at Dinamo Zagreb (58 matches with 4 goals and 5 assists), Split (34 matches, 1 assist), and Istra (15 matches).
