Olympiacos won the “red-and-white” Cretan derby and showed promise for the future!
On Sunday night (September 6), Giorgos Bartzokas’s team showed flashes of excellent play at times, of course, given the circumstances and the season, as the Greek and European champions prevailed 87-77 over Red Star at the Nea Alikarnassos Indoor Arena, thus winning the Crete International Basketball Tournament—held in Heraklion, Crete—for the fifth time in their history.
From the middle of the first quarter until the end of the game, the Piraeus team held the upper hand on the scoreboard thanks to their strong defense and pressure on the ball (12 steals), while at times they produced some impressive plays and teamwork on the offensive end.
