After today’s (September 29) day off, the Greek national team returns to training tomorrow (September 30), entering the final stretch of preparation for the match against the Netherlands.
The schedule at Toumba will begin at 7:30 p.m., while Ivan Jovanović’s press conference is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Vagiannidis has been definitively ruled out, and his inclusion in the squad has been rescinded; Tsapras joined the squad on Monday evening (September 29).
Vagiannidis was expected to sit out the match against the Netherlands, which is exactly what happened. The national team players had the chance to catch their breath after a grueling six-day stretch that included matches against Serbia and Germany, and starting tomorrow, they will resume full training.
Saliakas is the leading candidate to fill the gap on the right side of the defense, while Ivan Jovanović is expected to make only minor changes to the starting lineup, keeping a close eye on the players’ condition and fatigue levels.
