Among the positions the Thessaloniki club is looking to strengthen is that of center back, with the well-known and respected Italian journalist, Niccolò Schira, bringing a new name to the forefront.
According to his report in “X,” the “Yellows” are seriously interested in signing Bologna’s Nicolo Casale, whom the “Rossoblu” last summer for 6.5 million euros from Lazio, after having paid 1.5 million for his loan the previous season!
The 28-year-old, tall center back (1.91 m) has made 40 appearances and recorded one assist for Bologna across all competitions, while he also has extensive experience in Serie A with Lazio, for whom he made a total of 63 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
It is noteworthy that, according to “transfermarkt,” his market value with Lazio had reached 22 million euros by the summer of 2023!
As for his current contract, the right-footed center back is under contract with Bologna through the summer of 2028, whose squad he has been part of only once this season in the first three matchdays of the Italian league.
