Rodri’s major transfer to Barcelona is complete!
The "Blaugrana" have officially announced the signing of the Spanish national team captain to a four-year contract.
Barcelona’s agreement with Manchester City includes a fixed fee of 60 million euros, and with bonuses, the total value of this major transfer could reach approximately 76.5 million euros.
The transfer is one of Barcelona’s most significant moves in recent years. The 30-year-old international midfielder returns to LaLiga as one of the world’s top midfielders, having won every major title with Manchester City and having been named Ballon d’Or winner in 2024.
At Camp Nou, Rodri is expected to be the cornerstone of the midfield, bringing quality, control, balance, and a wealth of experience. At the same time, he will once again be playing alongside several of his teammates from the Spanish national team, a fact that made the prospect of his move to Barcelona even more appealing.
The deal took several days of negotiations, with Barcelona submitting successive offers until it secured a “yes” from City. Ultimately, the player’s own desire to continue his career in Catalonia played a decisive role.
