It was already known, and now it’s official!
Omonia announced the signing of the familiar David Akintola from Hull City at the very end of the transfer window.
The 30-year-old winger returns to the “clover” once again, following the second half of the 2019–2020 season, when he wore the green jersey on loan from Midtjylland.
Akintola has signed a contract through 2028.
In detail: We have reached an agreement with Hull City for the transfer of David Akintola to Omonia!
The contract with the player is for two years.
He has chosen to wear the number 8.
David Akintola is well known to Omonia fans and in Cypriot soccer, as he previously wore the clover on his jersey during the 2019–20 season, which was cut short due to COVID-19. He was signed during the January transfer window, played in seven matches, and recorded two assists, contributing his own part to the team’s first-place finish. He is 30 years old, hails from Nigeria, and plays as a winger and forward.
For the past year, he played for Hull City and celebrated their historic promotion to the Premier League; his last appearance for the English club was on August 28, 2026, in an EFL Cup match. Prior to that, he spent five years in the Turkish league, playing for Adana Demirspor, Rizespor, and Hatayspor. At the age of 18, he took a major step forward with his transfer to Midtjylland.
We welcome David Akintola back to the OMONOIA family and wish him every success.
