APOEL announced its fifth signing.
The “blue-and-yellows” have reached a preliminary agreement with Joan Sastre, who, if he successfully passes the necessary medical exams, will sign a contract with the Nicosia-based team.
The Spanish defender is familiar to us from his time in the Greek Super League following five years with PAOK.
The 29-year-old defender, who scored 7 goals and recorded 16 assists in 119 appearances for the “Double-Headed Eagle of the North,”
The announcement from the “Blue-and-Yellows”: “APOEL announces that it has reached a preliminary agreement with Spanish soccer player Joan Sastre.
The agreement will take effect once the necessary medical examinations are successfully completed.
Joan Sastre was born on April 30, 1997, in Spain; he plays as a right-back and is a product of Mallorca’s youth academy. With Mallorca’s first team, he made 122 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists, helping the club earn promotion to La Liga.
In 2022, he transferred to PAOK, initially on loan and later on a permanent transfer. With the Thessaloniki-based team, he made a total of 119 appearances in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and recording 10 assists, and celebrated winning the Greek league title in the 2023–2024 season.
