It was expected, and now it’s… official.
The reason is Christos Alexiou’s move to AEK from Inter.
AEK has officially announced the signing of the 21-year-old center back on loan from Inter.
The full announcement reads as follows:
“AEK FC announces the signing of Greek U-21 international defender Christos Alexiou from Inter Milan, on a one-season loan with an option to buy.
Christos Alexiou was born on June 30, 2005, in Athens. He plays as a center back and is 1.86 m tall. At a young age, he joined the Atromitos Academy, and at just 16 years old, he caught the attention of Inter, which proceeded to sign him.
The Greek center back’s development in the Italian club’s youth system was rapid and steady; he went on to become captain of the Primavera team, even winning the league title in the 2024–25 season. He has also represented Greece at the U-17 and U-19 levels and has made 10 appearances for the U-21 national team to date.
Christos, welcome to AEK.
We wish you good health and every success with our team!».
