Aris has signed Bosko Sutalo, bolstering its defense with the 26-year-old Croatian center back.
The “Yellows” announced his signing on a one-year loan from Standard Liège, while retaining an option to buy the player in the summer of 2027.
In his first comments as an Aris player, the Croatian center back made his high ambitions clear from the very beginning, emphasizing that the goal is to return the team to European competition.
“I know very well where I’m coming. Aris is one of the top clubs in Greece, and I had no trouble making my decision,” Sutalo said, among other things.
The full announcement reads:
“Aris FC announces the signing of Bosko Sutalo on a one-year loan from Belgian club Standard Liège, with an option to buy in the summer of 2027.
Our team’s newest signing was born on January 1, 2000, in Metkovic, Croatia. He is 1.88 meters tall and plays as a center back.
Bosko Sutalo took his first steps in soccer at the youth academies of RNK Split and NK Osijek.
With NK Osijek’s professional team, he delivered outstanding performances (34 appearances) in Croatia’s top division (SuperSport HNL), quickly attracting the interest of top European clubs.
In 2020, Atalanta BC paid five million euros to sign him. In Bergamo, he played in 16 matches and scored one goal, while during the 2021–22 season he was loaned to Hellas Verona FC, making 25 appearances in Serie A.
In the summer of 2022, he returned to Croatia to join Dinamo Zagreb, which paid a significant sum to secure his services.
In two years, he won two Croatian league titles (2022–’23, 2023–’24), one Cup (2023–’24), and one Super Cup (2023), while also competing in UEFA’s European competitions (Champions League and Conference League).
In total, he appeared in 27 matches for the Croatian team, scoring one goal.
In the summer of 2024, he moved to Belgium to play for Standard Liège, signing a five-year contract. During the 2025–26 season, he played on loan for Cracovia, making 28 appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Bosko Sutalo has made a total of 35 appearances for Croatia’s national youth teams (U16, U18, U19, U21).
“Welcome, Bosko!”
““ARIS must be a top contender, and that’s what we want to do.”
In his first comments to arisfc.com.gr, the Croatian international defender emphasized: “I
know very well where I’m coming to. ARIS is one of the top clubs in Greece, and it wasn’t hard for me to make my decision.
I also know that several of my compatriots have played for ARIS in the past, such as Mikic now.
I spoke with Mikic and Spicic, who told me great things about the team and how passionate the ARIS fans are.
I’m happy to now be part of ARIS, and I’m ready to step in and help my new team.
I’m looking forward to meeting my new coach and teammates so I can work with them and, together, have a successful season.
ARIS deserves to be a contender, and that’s what we want to do. We want to go as far as we can in Greece and, of course, bring the team back to European competitions.
I promise to give my very best and bring a lot of joy to our fans.”
Welcome Bosko
