Concerns have arisen at Panathinaikos regarding the injury to Sotiris Kontouris, who was forced to leave the Greece U21 national team’s match against Georgia. The young midfielder started the game but felt severe discomfort in his knee and was unable to continue, prompting the coaching staff to substitute him out in the first half.
After he left the field, it was determined that his knee had swollen, raising concerns about a possible injury. Kontouris is expected to return to Athens early Sunday morning and will undergo an MRI that afternoon, which will reveal the extent of the injury and how long he will need to be sidelined.
