Following their elimination from European competition, AEK played their first friendly match and defeated Karmiotissa 3-0 at the “AEK Arena.”
The goals for the “yellow-and-greens” were scored by Amin in the 11th minute on a well-taken penalty kick, Samborit with a header in the 48th minute, and the final score was sealed by Yerson Chacón in the 83rd minute on his unofficial return to action.
The next friendly match is tomorrow, Saturday (August 8, 7:00 p.m.), again at home, this time against Omonia Aradippou. The purpose of these two matches in as many days is for Mauro Camoranesi to give all the players some playing time and keep them in competitive shape ahead of the start of the league season.
