Omonia’s performance was a cause for concern, but Panagiotis Andreou saved them from defeat in the 90+3’ minute.
The Nicosia-based team drew 1-1 against Lincoln in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

Henning Berg’s team was unable to dictate the pace of the match at virtually any stage. The “Greens” paid the price in the 71st minute when Rutiens headed in the opening goal to make it 1-0. In the final play of the match, however, Panagiotis Andreou scored with a powerful finish to tie the game at 1-1, meaning qualification will essentially be decided in Nicosia.
The second leg will take place next Thursday (August 13, 8:00 p.m.) at GSP Stadium, and the “Clover” must clearly perform better to advance.
