The international players are getting into the rhythm of the Greek national team starting today, as the players will gather at the team hotel later today and begin preparations for a particularly demanding schedule in the Nations League. The “blue-and-whites” are set to play four matches within a few days.
Ivan Jovanović’s team will begin its campaign with two consecutive away games, against Serbia on September 24 and Germany on the 27th. They will then return to Greece, where they will host the Netherlands on October 1 and Germany on October 4.
There were several changes in the latest call-ups. Lazaros Rota was ruled out due to a last-minute injury and was replaced by Manolis Saliakas, while Giorgos Kyriakopoulos was called up in place of Dimitris Giannoulis. At the same time, Giannis Michailidis was added to the roster in place of Pantelis Hatzidiakos, while Tasos Bakasetas was also left out, as it was determined that he is not yet ready to return to action with the national team.
Ivan Jovanović’s selections are Vlachodimos, Mandas, and Tzolakis for the goalkeeper position; Mavropanos, Michailidis, Retsos, Kouliarakis, Dois, Saliakas, Vagiannidis, Kyriakopoulos, and Tsimikas on defense; Androutsos, Zafeiris, Triantis, Kourbelis, Mouzakitis, Karetsas, Tzolis, Masouras, and Kyziridis in midfield; and Ioannidis, Pavlidis, Douvikas, Tetei, and Kostoulas on offense.
