- Report from Montenegro: Giorgos Kyzas
Our national team is in Podgorica and will wrap up its preparations this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s (September 25 – 9:45 p.m.) match against Montenegro as part of the opening round of Group 2 in League C of the Nations League.
The atmosphere within our national team is excellent, with the players looking ready for a strong start. Of course, many are eagerly awaiting Marcus Edwards’ debut with the national team, and expectations are high.
As for the opposing “camp,” in the few hours we’ve been here, the atmosphere we’ve sensed is one of respect for the Cypriot team, knowing that they are a dangerous opponent who should under no circumstances be underestimated.
Nevertheless, the Montenegrins aren’t talking about anything less than the three points. This, as is evident in the country’s media, is a non-negotiable goal, for many reasons.
At the same time, the country’s soccer federation, with billboards almost… everywhere, is calling on the public to come to the stadium to support their national team’s effort.

As for the weather, conditions—at least today—are excellent for soccer. The temperature in Montenegro’s capital is 18 degrees Celsius, while the forecast for tomorrow—match day—calls for some rain.
