For the second day in a row, Stefan de Vrij participated in most of Panathinaikos’s training session today (July 9).
As a result, all signs point to the Dutch center back getting playing time and making his debut in the “Clover’s” Saturday (July 11) friendly between the “Clover” and Grasshoppers at the “Apostolos Nikolaidis” Stadium.
From there, the training session began with a warm-up, followed by ball-movement drills for the Panathinaikos players, focusing on proper off-the-ball movement and maintaining possession under pressure.
The main part of the session was devoted to tactics. Jacob Nistrup worked on various game situations, constantly providing instructions on the spacing between the lines, proper player positioning, and movements both with and without the ball.
Throughout the drills, the Danish coach demanded high intensity and quick decision-making, pausing the session several times to correct details.
The training session concluded with work on set pieces, with the “Greens” practicing both offensive and defensive set pieces.
It is worth noting, however, that the coaching staff placed particular emphasis on positioning, player movements, and ways to clear the ball from the box.
