Thursday’s (10/22) games in the 7th round of the EuroLeague have concluded. The action wraps up on Friday (10/23) with three games, including Olympiacos hosting Fenerbahçe.
Panathinaikos secured a hard-fought 85-79 victory over Baskonia at the Telekom Center Athens.
An improved Efes won the Turkish derby against Besiktas and is on the rise
Anadolu Efes was the better team in the Turkish derby against Besiktas, winning 89-80 in the seventh round of the EuroLeague.
The home team showed their intent early on and, shooting at a very high percentage, finished the first quarter with a 29-17 lead. In the second quarter, Alibegović’s team not only failed to close the gap but, unable to contain their opponent defensively, went into the locker room down -21, with the score at 57-36. In the second half, Besiktas fought back and managed to cut the deficit to as little as seven points (65-58). However, Laso’s team responded and secured the victory.
The game’s leading scorer was Payne, who scored 20 points, while Malcolm also had a very strong performance with 15 points and five rebounds. For the losing side, Omoruyi stood out with 16 points and six rebounds.
This was Efes’s second consecutive EuroLeague victory, continuing their strong run of form following their road win over Zalgiris. As a result, the home team improved its record to 3-4 and is now tied with Besiktas.

Third Straight 100-Point Road Win for Dubai BC
Following wins over Baskonia and Armani, Dubai BC appears to have truly found its stride on the road, notching its third win of the season in four away games. Right and Kampengele put on an outstanding performance, scoring 63 points by halftime and building a +27 lead, essentially sealing the victory in just 1.5 quarters.
Emfiondu Kampengele was the standout performer, scoring 24 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, while Okobo added another 17; the two players had 29 and 28 in the efficiency rating, respectively, and Blossomgame added 16 more. On the other hand, Washington and Jessup were the only Bavarians who put up much of a fight, with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The trio of Kampengele (12), Wright (11), and Blossomgame (11) scored 34 points in the first half. After laying the groundwork—extending the lead to 15 points in the first quarter— by the end of the first half, they had widened it to 27 points, with the quarter scores at 14-29 and 22-34, resulting in a 36-63 halftime score.
Bayern attempted a comeback with a 7-0 run shortly after the midpoint of the third quarter, with Voigtmann trying to make an impact both offensively and in the paint. Thus, the Bavarians found a way to stabilize their lead at around 15 points, showing signs of life, at least enough to avoid a crushing defeat on their home court, winning the third quarter 31-19 to make it 67-82.
Dubai had no trouble managing the final quarter, with the lead never dropping into single digits and consistently hovering above 15 points, ending with Dubai reaching the 100-point mark at 107-91.

Odette Katas’s players held the lead throughout the first half and built a +15 advantage, but in the third quarter, perimeter shots sparked a 10-0 run for the “Merengues,” cutting the lead to +13, and in the fourth quarter, they extended their lead to +15 and then +20 to secure the victory.

An endless downward spiral for Armani, who also lost to Barcelona and has now suffered five consecutive defeats
The Milanese were unable to end their losing streak even against the “Blaugrana.”
Armani Milan put in yet another disappointing performance, suffering yet another loss, this time to Barcelona by a score of 81-89, in the seventh round of the EuroLeague.
The Catalans held the lead throughout the game, managing to build a 14-point lead in the third quarter (52-66), underscoring the poor form of the home team. Poeta’s team tried in the final stretch of the game to cut the deficit to single digits, and succeeded, but the visitors managed to hold on to their lead and came away with the win from Milan.
The top scorer for the winners was Pander with 17 points, three assists, and two rebounds, while Martín had an all-around performance, scoring 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. For the home team, Barnell stood out with 15 points.
This result marked the Milanese team’s fifth consecutive loss, leaving them with a 1-5 record, in contrast to Barcelona, which returned to winning ways after its overtime loss to Olympiacos and improved its record to 4-3.
