Eintracht Frankfurt came close to making history in the German Cup…
After a crushing 7-0 defeat by Brentford in a friendly a few days ago, the Frankfurt team unleashed a barrage against the weak St. Tonis.
Facing the fifth-division team at home, they scored ten goals by halftime!
Although it seemed they might even surpass the competition’s all-time biggest victory (a 17-0 win from 1941), they ultimately settled for an 11-0 win.
Burkard scored a hat trick for the visitors, Uzun added two more goals, and the rest were scored by Koch, Amaimuni, Baum, Emnoutalib, Götze, and Saibi.
Elsewhere, Kaiserslautern advanced with a goal in the 120th minute against Mannheim (0–1 in a wildly eventful derby), while Stuttgart advanced with a hat trick by Pečinović and a 4-0 win at Hansa Rostock.
