A solid final test, plenty of positives, and a comfortable 4-0 victory were the highlights for Aris in their final preseason friendly against Liefering.
The opponent was a young, athletic team that also played with high pressure. This gave Artem Radzkov the opportunity to see how his team reacts under such conditions, and the outcome was particularly positive. On the one hand, Aris faced very few threats throughout the entire game, and on the other hand, they were extremely dangerous in their quick transitions from defense to offense.
The “Light Brigade” threatened in the 6th, 8th, 18′, and 19′; following a long pass from Correa, Galiata cut back into the box, and Efaghe opened the scoring. Three minutes later, Galiata found El Alachi with a superb pass; El Alachi cut back from the flank to Efagé, who doubled his team’s lead. In the 32nd minute, Galiata, from the edge of the box, sent the ball off the crossbar and into the net with a low drive, bringing the score to 3-0. In the final minute of the first half, Verton was brought down in the box, and Efagké converted the penalty kick from 11 steps out, making it 4-0 at halftime and completing his hat trick.
Although Aris failed to score in the second half, the pattern remained the same. There were several missed opportunities, including chances by Verton in the 60th and 78th minutes, Efagké’s shot off the crossbar in the 63rd minute, and Kassianidis’s clear-cut chance in the 87th minute.
Aris: Zandro (83’ G. Dimitriou), Yagko, Matisik (73’ Kaloulou), Lele (45’ Bandeli), Correia, Galiata, Charalambous (86’ Y. Giannis), Nikolić (64’ Akaba), Verton (86’ Kassianidis), Efange (86’ Pourikkos) and El Alaci (46’ Sané – 47’ César).
The Aris squad is expected to return to Cyprus tomorrow shortly before noon.
