Filippa Fotopoulou made history in Birmingham, finishing 8th in the long jump final at the European Championships with a best jump of 6.67 meters.
The Cypriot champion became the first Cypriot athlete to compete in three consecutive European Championship finals.
Fotopoulou started with 6.67m on her first attempt, followed by 6.54m and one invalid jump. In her last three attempts, she recorded 6.45 m, 6.47 m, and 6.46 m, finishing in 8th place.
This marks yet another significant achievement for her and for Cypriot track and field.
