AEL continues its planning ahead of the new season, with team officials pursuing several potential player signings simultaneously. In addition to Andreas Karos, who is expected to be announced as soon as his release from Hermannstadt in Romania is formally finalized, Stefano Denswil is also under the microscope of the “blue-and-yellows.”
The 33-year-old Dutch defender, originally from Suriname, played last season for Kayserispor in Turkey, making 33 appearances and scoring one goal. He is a player with a strong track record and an impressive resume, having started his career at Ajax before going on to play for Club Brugge, Bologna, and Trabzonspor.
Denswil’s primary position is at center back, though he is also capable of playing left back, a trait that adds flexibility to the coaching staff’s options. His experience in top European leagues is yet another factor that makes him a particularly attractive option for the Limassol team.
Densville is on the shortlist of those being considered for the position, with talks between the two sides at an advanced stage. If a final agreement is reached, it is possible that developments will follow soon, making him yet another significant addition to strengthen AEL’s defensive line.
