After about three days in the hospital and a series of tests, Konstantinos Karetsas was discharged from the hospital in Westphalia.
The 18-year-old Dortmund winger had felt severely unwell and was forced to leave the game during his Champions League debut on Tuesday.
It was determined that he had a circulatory issue, which was attributed to dehydration, however, tests are continuing so that doctors can rule out any other medical causes.
The soccer player’s mother spoke to a Belgian media outlet about the international star’s condition. “The blood circulation problems appear to have been caused by dehydration. Konstantinos has been discharged from the hospital, which is a huge relief. The club is being particularly cautious and wants to do everything possible, through various tests, to rule out any potential issues,” said his mother, Irini.
Karetsas will not be part of Borussia’s roster for tomorrow’s Bundesliga match against Paderborn.
