Tomorrow’s (September 12, 8:00 p.m.) derby between Apollon and Omonia at the “Alphamega Stadium,” for the third matchday of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, was discussed by Fanourios Konstantinou in remarks he gave to SPOR FM 95.0.
The “blue-and-whites’” press officer expects a closely contested and open match, in which neither team will settle for anything less than the three points.

He also discussed the team’s current situation, noting that Ljubic, Brown, Goltson, and Andreou will not be available. On the other hand, Thomas and Weisbeck are returning.
Finally, he also mentioned the signings of promising young players Mubarak and Tsima.
In detail:
On the derby against Omonia: “From the opening whistle of the match at GSP, everything is up in the air; it’s shaping up to be a closely contested and wide-open game. The teams are quite competitive; every match is worth 3 points and nothing more at this stage—things will be different in the second phase. Right now, everyone is fighting for points, except for Ljubic and Brown. Thomas and Weisbeck are returning—important comebacks—as are Goltson and Andreou. We want to see the team at full strength to gauge just how competitive we are; absences take their toll—you lose some of your momentum. The break will be quite beneficial for us and our injured players. Lupic and Brown will be available when play resumes. “We sold out; we had 1,000 tickets available. Omonia could have given us as many as 2,000; the 1,000 was purely a matter for the police.”
On Mubarak and Tsima: “They need time to adjust; they’re two young players from Africa who’ll need to work hard to reach the level we want. They’ll be training with the first team.”
On Brown’s naturalization as a Cypriot citizen: “He got injured and can’t get a call-up; it seemed like bad luck. All the procedures have been completed; it’s now just a matter of him getting a call-up.”
