Aris continues to make moves to strengthen its roster, and it’s even possible that two of its next signings could be Greek players. The Thessaloniki-based club is in the lead to sign Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Giannoulis Larentzakis, subject to certain conditions.
The 33-year-old forward is closer than ever to deciding to return to play in Greece again. The presence of his close friend, Richard Xiao, on the ownership team, combined with the imminent stay of his brother, Kostas (who will become a free agent from Olympiacos), increases the chances of the deal going through.
As for “Larry,” if he becomes a free agent from Olympiacos, Aris is the favorite to sign him, despite AEK’s known interest. The international shooting guard/small forward wants a bigger role, and he has the full confidence of Vassilis Spanoulis and Nikos Zisis, with whom he also plays on the national team.
The possibility also remains open for Moustapha Fall, who became a free agent after leaving Olympiacos, while Aris is expected to announce the signings of Matt Morgan, Nenad Dimitrijević, and Kem Birch.
