For yet another summer, reports from Turkey are running rampant, with dozens and hundreds of names making the rounds. The latest name to appear in the Turkish media is that of Ollie Watkins.
Fenerbahçe wants to return to the top of the league and is attempting to close the gap on last year’s champion, Galatasaray, and is looking to add the Aston Villa forward to its ranks.
The 30-year-old forward has been the spearhead of Villa’s attack for the past six years, but with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2028, it’s not unlikely he’ll leave this year, allowing his team to add a few million to its coffers.
Aston Villa is asking for 35 million euros to let him go, but Fenerbahçe is offering up to 25, with talks between the two sides continuing.
In the season that just ended, Watkins made a total of 55 appearances across all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing five assists.
