Juancho Hernangómez will always be a “Green”!
As Dimitris Giannakopoulos had essentially announced early Tuesday morning via Instagram, Panathinaikos intended to keep the Spanish forward and make him… its next captain! And that’s exactly what happened!

Juancho and Panathinaikos agreed to an early extension of their contract through 2030, with the veteran forward receiving a pay raise!
We’d like to remind you that during the previous renewal between the two sides, Juancho had signed a contract through 2027 and will remain a “Green” until he’s 35!
In fact, Panathinaikos will be the longest-standing stop in Hernangómez’s career, as he will have spent seven years wearing the team’s jersey!
With the “Greens,” Juancho has won one league title, two Cups, and one EuroLeague championship, and he is one of the cornerstones of the “Seven-Star” roster.
