Dimitris Giannakopoulos responded to the Olympiacos BC statement regarding Matias Lesor’s surgery and the role Giorgos Angelopoulos played in the process.
The “red-and-white” basketball club had stated that Dutch surgeon Nick Van Dijk, with whom it maintains an exclusive partnership in Greece, had undertaken the French center’s surgery following communication between the two sides.

According to Olympiacos’ statement, Giorgos Angelopoulos immediately gave his consent for Van Dijk to operate on the Panathinaikos player and subsequently informed the doctor of this decision.
This statement prompted a reaction from Dimitris Giannakopoulos. The powerful figurehead of the “green” basketball club reposted Olympiacos’s announcement on social media and commented sharply on the specific mention.
“Just imagine what a magnanimous gesture they think they’ve made by doing what is perfectly human and self-evident…,” he wrote pointedly.
