The EuroLeague Coaches Association’s website presented Sarunas Jasikevicius with some major dilemmas.
The Fenerbahçe coach was asked to choose between Panathinaikos and Žalgiris, and after some hesitation, he chose the Kaunas team, saying, “… nothing is above Zalgiris.”
At the same time, he preferred a gold medal with Lithuania to another EuroLeague title, though he said he’d prefer the EuroLeague MVP title over the EuroBasket MVP, which he’s already won (in 2003).
Of course, he preferred a night out at a bouzouki club with Željko Obradović rather than with Tomas Masiulis, while he made it clear that despite his ties to Greece (his wife is Greek), his son will play for the Lithuanian national team.
“Sarunas” won’t hear of anyone else taking the last shot, and he makes no secret of the fact that he’d love to play golf with Tiger Woods.
