Anthony Gordon took a major step forward in his career last summer, moving from Newcastle to Barcelona, where he has recorded five assists in his first seven appearances.
The English attacking midfielder made some beautiful and, at the same time, rather unusual remarks, emphasizing that he feels he belongs to the past and to a different era. And that’s because, as he noted, everyone today is obsessed with social media, and romance has been lost.

“I feel like I have a soul much older than my age, as if I belong to the past. I feel like I belong to another era. I think my personality fits better with the ’90s. Now everyone is obsessed with social media; everything has become materialistic, and romance is almost nonexistent.
Ever since social media emerged around 2010, I believe the world has started heading in the wrong direction. “People focus on things that don’t matter. The only thing that really matters is being at home with the people you love,” Gordon said.
