Draymond Green… is sacrificing himself to help build a new “empire” for the Golden State Warriors!
According to reports by well-known and respected ESPN reporter Sam Amaro, the 36-year-old forward opted out of his $27.7 million contract with the Warriors, thereby becoming a free agent.
With this move, the Warriors now have the flexibility to pursue LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the offseason, with the goal of creating a formidable and experienced quartet alongside Steph Curry and Green!
It’s widely assumed that the veteran forward won’t… look elsewhere, but will wait to see what moves the Warriors make and then sign a new contract.
In recent hours, many American media outlets have reported that Golden State’s top priority is to acquire “AD” from the Wizards, in an effort to convince the “King” to follow the same path to San Francisco.
The opt-out comes days after the Warriors said they expect Green to pick up the $27.7M option. Instead, Green gives Golden State the time and flexibility to pursue Davis from the Wizards and convince James to join Stephen Curry, Green, and his former Lakers championship teammate in the Bay Area. https://t.co/uNMngqPSw2
